Lorefans, thanks for being so very patient with me. As many of you know, I've recently had my second heart stent inserted, so many projects have gone undone, especially Wiley's Blog. Sorry about that. There's something about a heart attack that really messes up scheduling. However, in the week I took off from my nursing job, the one that pays the bills, I did manage to get caught up on one of my
favorite projects. Yes, Lorefans, even as I type these excited words, my debut murder mystery tale,
Cosplay Girls, is complete. I'm tweaking the cover. My author's photo still is being selected. You don't know how hard it is to find a good photo of me lately. I considered using one from my twenty-
something years, but that would be cheating. The story, the lovely story is finished. I fell in love with
the ladies in this book. As in so much of what I write, these characters took over the keyboard and
told their own story while I carefully listened. I only hope I did them justice. Have a seat, dear friends
and allow me to introduce my creations, the Cosplay Girls.
Take a look at the sword wielding, luscious redhead on the right side of the preliminary cover artwork. That, my friends, is Miranda Carter. Known as the Dragon Slayer, she'd probably punch me out
for revealing that neither the red hair nor the enlarged bosom are natural. Both are enhancements that allow Miranda to charm her way into selling tons of Mystic Potions, her own exotic perfume line.
Waitressing at Bennies keeps body and soul together, barely, but Miranda dreams of something more.
Lilac Vengeance, lots of perfume sales and bigger breasts just might get Miranda what she wants most from life.
The blonde giant that dominates the scene, despite her demure appearance, is the lovely Linda Lowen, body builder extraordinaire. Fairly new to the cosplay scene, Linda brings all the charm and
grace of her Barb Barian character to life, walking serenely through Valhalla Hall in her stainless steel
bikini. While drumming up business for her gym, Linda also has other business, very secret business
with Steve Lawson. More about him later.
Another recent addition to the wonderful world of cosplay, Dee Dee Carter is the neon blonde dressed in high tech pink. Faithful cousin to Miranda, Dee Dee is mending a broken heart after
breaking up with cheating boyfriend Leo. A member of the legendary Carter Girls, this strong
willed beauty doesn't mind using a baseball bat to even the score. Do not cross her path
on a bad day or you will be sorry. By the way, mess with one Carter Girl, and you'll find yourself
having to fight both of them.
Who's the Asian beauty totally owning her part of the cover? That's Alley Yo. Remember the
name, because this girl is going places. She has the looks, the hair and the body to go anywhere, do anything she wants. Determined to see her name in lights, she will be a star. If you can move her a rung higher up the ladder of success, she'll happily use you. Enjoy the party, but expect to be discarded when your usefulness is gone. Cold, calculating, perhaps even cruel, this girl knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. Anything.
What, besides cosplay, connects all these beautiful women? He's not a girl. He didn't even make the cover, but Steve Lawson is key to the tale of the Cosplay Girls. Writer, photographer and nurse, Steve has a bond with each of these women. Dee Dee wants to kill him, or at least watch Miranda do it.
Linda has a deep, dark secret. She needs Steve's help. Alley Yo wants to "collaborate" with Steve, all night long, or so she says while flashing him. Is it love, lust, or a chance to diss an enemy? Miranda won't say what she wants or needs from Steve. The woman has her pride.
Lorefans, trust me, Cosplay Girls was written with genuine love for all those wonderful fans
in their mind-boggling, glorious costumes that make the cosplay world what it is: a fun adventure for all. Buy the book and lose yourself for a time in the beautiful, magical world of cosplay. As Jason Tuck, another character from the tale says, "It's a wild ride." If you've ever pulled on cape, mask or tight
spandex to fly among the stars, or just wanted to, this book is for you. So go buy it, already!
